The Cotswold Canals currently offer an attractive navigation for boaters from the Ocean Basin, near to Stonehouse through to Bowbridge Lock, which is a distance of about 4 miles. By the end of 2019, a further 1 mile of canal will be opened for navigation, offering a pleasant and varied cruising path along the pretty Stroud Valleys. As is common on the National Network, there will be a variety of moorings offered to the boat owners.
These are moorings where you can permanently moor your boat but does not allow you to live aboard it. Currently, SVCC offers a limited number of moorings on the off side of the canal where proper mooring facilities have been created. Boaters will require one of these moorings to moor on the Cotswold Canals. The scale of mooring fees depends somewhat on the position of the mooring and the facilities offered. SVCC expects to create several new moorings each year in anticipation of the reconnection to the National Network, and these are being offered as soon as they are created but offered at a 50% discount until then.
There are a number of visitor moorings located close to centres of population or specific facilities and these are located on our facilities map. Generally they are restricted for a certain short period of time that are indicated at the specific location. If you decide to stay longer, you may incur a £25 extended stay charge for each extra day you are moored.
